INTRODUCTION

The aim of the Welfare of Farm Animal course is to introduce students to the content of the concept of welfare, indicators of animal welfare and methods of welfare assessment in breeding, transport and killing. Other topics covered are specific aspects and problems of animal welfare of each category of the main livestock species such as cattle, pigs, sheep and goats, poultry and waterfowl.
